'Fashion Targets Breast Cancer' - with Charity Ambassador Blonde Ambition!

Following losing a close friend to the disease back in 1994 Fashion Designer Ralph Lauren was inspired to use fashion as a platform in order to raise awareness for Breast Cancer charities across the globe, and with this 'Fashion Targets Cancer' was born!

'Breakthrough Breast Cancer' first launched 'Fashion Targets Cancer' in the UK in 1996 and has since grown from strength to strength, working with some of the biggest names in both Fashion and Media.

Through the sale of specially designed products and collaborations with Leading UK high street Brands, including Topshop, Debenhams, M&S, Coast, River Island, Warehouse & Laura Ashley, as as exclusive online boutique my-wardrobe.com, Breakthrough Breast Cancer have been able to raise vital funds for the charity.

With festival season already in full swing we see 'Fashion Targets Breast Cancer' focusing on 'Festival Fashion' with charity ambassador Deanne Oliver-Evans (aka DJ Blonde Ambition) modelling pieces designed by both 'Topshop' and 'Velvet Johntsone' exclusively for the campaign.

Deanne, for me is the perfect ambassador for the charity to use in this particular campaign. Not only beautiful both on the inside and out, her love of fashion coincides with her love of music.... The East London based DJ makes regular appearances at some of the most prestigious festivals, where her own outlandish and imaginative get up's have often left me in awe!

She will be making appearances this year at Glastonbury, Bestival, Stop Making Sense in Croatia and Secret Garden Party, and has put together a Summer mix to get us in the festival mood, which is available on sound cloud and by clicking here! I can assure you its certainly got me in the mood for my own festival activities, and I have been dancing my way around KVBHQ every day in preparation!!

I will be looking forward to catching up with Deanne at the 'Fashion Targets Cancer' event next week to talk all things fashion, music, festivals and more importantly whats next for her and the charity!

I managed to get a sneak peek of Deanne's shoot, so if any of you are stumped for ideas of how to stand out at this years festivals check it out and then head over to links below to stock up your wardrobe and make your contribution to an AMAZING cause!

Nike Gets behind 'Team GB' ahead of Olympic Games 2012

With the Olympics literally around the corner... in both timing and location, Nike are continuing their support for Team GB through their 'Greatness' campaign...

Nike celebrated the imminent start of the Olympic games,  by presenting Eight Leading British athletes, including Mo Farah, Mark Cavendish, Paula Radcliffe, Dai Greene, Luol Deng and Perri Shakes-Drayton with bespoke M65 jackets, packaged in custom built wooden Union Jack presentation boxes - a keepsake for each athlete, as a reminder of their commitment and dedication to their sport, and great achievement in competing in the first Olympics games to be held in London since 1948!

Each M65 jackets is embellished with personal mantras printed in patriotic red on the inside placket, each mantra embodies the spirit of athletic commitment and success to each individual athlete. In addition to the personal mantras on each jacket, a bonded woven Union Jack is stitched on the left arm, while each athlete’s name is embroidered on a Velcro name plate.

With personal mantras as inspiring as these, there is a little something we can all learn from these influential people...

Paul Radcliffe Checking out her own personal 'Mantra

PAULA RADCLIFFE: “Be the best you can be each day”

DAI GREENE: “100% effort, 100% of the time”

PERRI SHAKES-DRAYTON: “Train hard. There are no short cuts”

HANNAH ENGLAND: “Every rep. Every session. Every race”

HOLLY BLEASDALE: “Believe in yourself and magic will happen”

MARK CAVENDISH: “Remain the fastest. Stay the greatest”

MO FARAH: “Go hard or go home”

LUOL DENG: “I’ll return to deliver”

Basketball legend Scottie Pippen surprised Luol Deng with his customised special gift at the World Basketball Festival in Brixton, while  Track & field legend Carl Lewis presented Perri Shakes-Drayton with her bespoke M65 jacket.

Carl Lewis and Perri Shakes-Drayton - Love her reaction in this pic!

Personally, I find Nike's gifting ethic and the responses of each of the athletes extremely heart warming -  finally something that an individual can take away with them, wear with pride, and know is throughly well deserved!

All thats left for me to say is - GO TEAM GB WE ARE ALL BEHIND YOU!!!
